Known as one of the most versatile bands to emerge from the San Diego music scene, Fakebook combines alternative,
punk, blues, R&B, psychedelic and classic rock & roll - with some Summer of Love vibes and multi-layered, interlocking guitar arrangements.
The band has performed at many of San Diego's most venerable music venues including the Belly Up Tavern, 710 Beach Club, the San Diego County Fair,
Tio Leo's Lounge, The Onyx Room, Beaumont's La Jolla and the San Diego Rock 'n' Roll Marathon.
The current Fakebook lineup has been together five years, but the band's origins can be traced back to Claude Coma
and the IVs and Breaking the Code, two local San Diego favorites from the 1980's and 1990's respectively. While always maintaining their underground edge,
these bands attracted loyal followings and opened for such notable acts as the Dead Kennedys, John Mayall, Suicidal Tendencies and the Call to name a few.
The band features five accomplished musicians; each one steeped in the time honored traditions of rock and roll.
In addition to a complement of original songs, the Fakebook playlist runs the rock gamut - songs from Elvis Presley, Green Day, the Beatles,
Foo Fighters, the Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Buffalo Springfield and R.E.M. are frequent selections of the band for its live performances.
